The AWC is an annual waterbird census carried out by volunteers every January (sometimes spills over to February) at various sites thoughout Asia. Analysis of data collected during AWC help Wetlands International, the organizer, in long term planning for the conservation of waterbirds and their wetland habitats. We are out again this year amids landas season!

We've been discussing, planning and tweaking for weeks ... it's finally taking off. Fifteen individuals will start the first leg of the Long Walk 25th December 2009, at Tg Bungai Lodge, 0700 hrs. The first leg will take them 10 kms along quiet gentle stretch of Sarawakian coast. By the time the are done, they would have covered 80 kms.
